Stillnight Privacy Policy
Last updated: 20 October 2026
Stillnight is an iPhone app with a six-week sleep program and sleep sounds. It has no account and no server that stores anything about you. This policy says what leaves your iPhone, and what does not.
What stays on your iPhone
- Your sleep diary: the times you note each morning, how the night felt and the tags you add (like caffeine or a nap).
- Sleep from Apple Health, if you allow it: Stillnight reads your sleep (Sleep Analysis) to suggest each morning's diary, and writes Mindful Minutes when you listen to sounds. It reads nothing else.
- Your safety check answers, your sleep window, your program progress and your weekly check-ins.
- Your phone lock settings, where the lock is available: the apps you choose to shield are kept by Apple's Screen Time as tokens; Stillnight can't see which apps they are or how you use them. Stillnight counts how often you paused the lock.
- Downloaded sounds and your settings.
Your health data is never sold, never used for advertising or analytics, and never sent to us or anyone else. Like the rest of your iPhone's data, it is part of your device backup if you use one.
What leaves your iPhone
| What | Who | Why | Linked to you? | Tracking? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Purchase history: whether you have Stillnight Plus and which plan | RevenueCat (and Apple, who takes the payment) | To unlock and restore Plus | To an anonymous ID RevenueCat creates; no name or email | No |
| Six product events: onboarding finished, a diary saved, a check-in done, a sound started, the paywall opened, a purchase made | PostHog | To learn which parts of Stillnight help | To an anonymous ID; no person profile | No |
| Requests for sound files and the app's settings file | Cloudflare (our file storage) | To download sounds you play and check for new ones | No | No |
The product events never contain sleep times, diary answers, tags, safety answers, your window or anything from Apple Health. Each event can carry only a short, fixed label (for example, which plan was bought) and the app drops anything else before sending. IP-based location is switched off. These events are off unless you turn them on (at the end of setup, or in Settings → Share anonymous usage), and you can turn them off again there.
RevenueCat, PostHog and Cloudflare process this data only to provide their service to us, under data processing terms that protect it at least as well as this policy does. PostHog keeps product events for up to one year; RevenueCat keeps purchase records as long as your purchase needs them and Apple's accounting rules require; Cloudflare keeps no record of sound downloads for us.
Stillnight does not show ads, does not sell data, and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Consumer health data
Some US states (including Washington, Nevada and Connecticut) give rights over "consumer health data". Stillnight keeps that data on your iPhone only. It does not collect it, share it or sell it, and it asks for your consent before reading Apple Health.
Your choices
- Export your diary as a spreadsheet in Settings → Export diary.
- Delete everything in Settings removes your diary, program, settings and downloaded sounds from your iPhone. Deleting the app does the same.
- Apple Health access can be changed in the Health app → Sharing → Apps → Stillnight.
- Screen Time access can be turned off in Settings → Screen Time.
- To ask for the anonymous purchase or analytics records tied to your device to be deleted, email us at the address below.
Children
Stillnight is not directed at children. People under 18 are offered the free tools only, not the sleep program.
Changes
We will update this page when what Stillnight collects changes, and change the date above.
